Back to Life

Now that Volleyball and XC are over things have slowed down considerably in the Roberts household. No more weekends filled with bus trips... No more long days in gyms.... No more daily trips to the Grandparents to pick up the kids. Instead we've finally been able to spend some quality family time together at home. Actual sit down dinners, board games, and even an occasional round of Wii Sports (check out the video below). It's been a welcome and refreshing change of pace.

Ashley's volleyball team finished the season last weekend in Yakima. After a tough first round loss they rebounded and won their second game before losing a heartbreaker to a private school from Tacoma. The loss ended their season one game short of earning a state trophy. That being said the girls accomplished a great deal this year and I couldn't be prouder of Ashley. Her hard work earned her coach of the year honors!

On the XC scene a few of the high school runners and I are planning on competing in the Seattle Half marathon next weekend. Tonight we had a training run that went 10 miles, which officially was the longest run I have ever done in my life. Stay tuned for a race recap....

School keeps pushing on, and I'm counting down the days until Thanksgiving break. Football, food, friends, and family.... what a great holiday. And then a few short weeks until Xmas break. This time of the year always seems to fly by. Hopefully not too fast though... I want to enjoy this time with Ash, Hayden, and Payton.

Check out Hayden's lightning fast sword skills.... Ashley didn't stand a chance!
(I can't beat him at this game either....)
